This is a transcript of a real 911 emergency call placed in Arlington Virginia.
Operator: 911, state your emergency.
Caller: Well, it's not an emergency, but do you know why on one side at the damn drawbridge of 95 traffic is stopped for 15 minutes and yet traffic's coming the other way?
Operator: Sir, are you calling 911 to complain about traffic?
*pause*
Caller: Fuck you. *hangs up*
The 911 operator's manager then called this person back to explain to them that abusing the 911 system is a criminal offense in Virginia and that they wouldn't tolerate his abusing one of their employees. The manager didn't get the caller on the line (he was on the other line having called the local Arlington police) but when he heard the caller's voicemail message he discovered the caller was Joe McCain, John McCain's brother.
Joe has since apologized.
